marketing integrated graphic design and web development

Challenge:
As part of a group, build a prototype website that demonstrates what was learned in class (WEB 125). It must be standards compliant, incorporate a form of social networking and e-commerce, have a primary and secondary page structure, and take into account the primary audience and purpose of the site. Plus, I was in my final semester and my project partner was a first year digital filmmaking student.

Solution:
To make the project equally challenging for the both of us I created a sort of tutelage out. And to make it relevant I modeled the site as an agency that created digital video content. My partner would also be more inclined to participate knowing that in the future he could build his own portfolio website. For myself, I designed a hip, cutting-edge site that played old-timey television iconography against cutting edge digital material.

Results:
I learned how to think through the process of explaining both site design and HTML & CSS principles. My partner learned how to incorporate design tools before starting on the HTML. And we got an A on the project.
